Access
NExTLi will operate as a national open-access research infrastructure providing integrated, in-depth lipidomics workflows to academic, public, and industrial users.
Access will be granted on a project basis, starting from your biological question and translating it into a structural, spatial, or flux-informed lipidomics strategy. The goal is not simply to run samples, but to design experiments that produce interpretable and reusable results through expert-guided workflows.
Access workflow
- Intake: research question, samples, constraints, desired outputs
- Expert-guided experimental design and feasibility assessment
- Standardized sample processing, measurement, and QC
- Expert-supported data analysis and biological interpretation
- FAIR-by-design data packaging via the NExTLi Data & Analysis Portal
What we need from you
A clear biological or translational research question, basic sample information, and any constraints. We help refine the experimental design.
- Research question and intended comparisons
- Sample type, origin, quantity, and storage conditions
- Any constraints (timing, budget, limited material)
- Requested analytical workflow(s) and expected outcomes
What you get
Deliverables depend on the workflow, but always include documented QC, annotation confidence metadata, and outputs designed for reuse.
- Expert-guided study design aligned to your hypothesis
- Standardized processing and QC summaries
- Annotated datasets with quantitative outputs and structured research objects
- Expert-supported interpretation, including manuscript support where appropriate
- FAIR-by-design data delivery via the NExTLi Data & Analysis Portal
Who can access NExTLi
Universities & knowledge institutes
Project-based access at market-conform rates, with priority for academic and public research. All projects are subject to the same scientific and technical intake criteria.
Applied research & public bodies
Project-based access at market-conform rates. TO2 institutes and public research organizations are welcome through the same intake pathway as academic users.
Industry & business
Project-based access at market-conform rates, with capped capacity (<20% of total) to safeguard the public research mission of the infrastructure.
Access to NExTLi services will be provided under transparent and non-discriminatory conditions within a partially subsidized cost-recovery model. User fees reflect the complexity, duration, and resource intensity of the requested workflow. Indicative pricing structures will be communicated during the intake phase and published on this website once the infrastructure is operational.
NExTLi is currently under review within the NWO RI programme. Formal project intake and access will become available once the infrastructure is established.
