Dr. Frédéric M. Vaz is the head of the Core Facility Metabolomics at the Amsterdam UMC. He is the main applicant and visionary behind NExTLi. Specializing in biochemistry, bioinformatics, and metabolic diseases, Dr. Vaz’s expertise in metabolomics and lipidomics drives the core scientific agenda of NExTLi.

Dr Martin Giera is the head of the Metabolomics group at the Center for Proteomics and Metabolomics at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). Specialising in advanced lipidomics technologies and workflows, Dr Giera’s expertise in translational research provides NexTLi with novel technological approaches to lipidomics for drug development and disease research.

Prof. Ron Heeren, Distinguished Professor and Limburg co-chair of the Maastricht Multimodal Molecular Imaging Institute (M4i). Specialising in Imaging Mass Spectrometry and innovations in mass spectrometry, Prof Heeren’s expertise in spatial lipidomics provides new insights into spatial lipid distribution, enabling NExTLi to make advances in disease modelling, drug development and precision medicine.

Dr. Katy Wolstencroft co-leads the Advanced Compute and Data Core (ACDC) at the Amsterdam UMC. Specialising in bioinformatics and data science, her expertise in FAIR data and reproducible research ensure NExTLi’s research outputs are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.
